Weightage is given to both secondary grade and graduate teachers.
Details of weightage for sec.gr teachers
There is a change in weightage for secondary grade teachers , trb also decided to select from weightage marks

Details of weightage for sec.gr. assistant teachers ( new****)

 For Higher secondary marks  - 15 marks ( 90 % and above)

 For Higher secondary marks  - 12 marks ( 80 % to 89 %)
 For Higher secondary marks  - 09 marks ( 70 % to 79 %)
 For Higher secondary marks  - 06 marks ( 60 % to 69 %)
 For Higher secondary marks  - 03 marks ( 50 % to 59 %)
 For Higher secondary marks  -  0 marks (  below 50 %  )
 For D.T.Ed marks                    - 25 marks ( 70 % and above)  
 For D.T.Ed marks                    - 20 marks (50 % to 69 %)
 For tntet marks                        - 60 marks ( 90 % and above)     
 For tntet marks                         - 54 marks ( 80 % to 89 %)
 For tntet marks                        - 48 marks ( 70 % to 79 %)

 tet tamilnadu 2016 (tamilnadu teachers eligibility test 2016) will be conducted for both secondary and b.t assistant teachers.


In free education system, all teachers appointment must be selected through teachers eligibility test. but a case is bending now In supreme court for secondary grade teachers selection.

so secondary grade selection through employment seniority continues till the ending of case. but for b.t assistant teachers selection will be only through teachers eligibility test.

The examination is conducted by TRB(teachers recruitment board)

TRB took a necessary action to print nearly 800000 TET Application forms.


TRB expects There are 500000 candidates to write this exam.
